95 Cold Calls in 4 days. All That Fear for Nothing.
What this one proves: a fear avoided for years can empty out in four days of action.
There's an anxiety that runs underneath everything. Not sharp. Not a crisis. Just there, every morning, like background noise.
You've had it so long it's almost comfortable.
And every good month triggers the same quiet question: what if it drops?
That's where Jerome was when he started.
The Before
Jerome was a Mid-Market Account Executive at a real estate tech company. Seven years in, well-regarded by his leadership, with a track record of closing deals at multiple companies.
The quarter before he came to coaching, he was tracking at around 75-80% of quota.
His three words:
Stressed. Doubtful. Overwhelmed.
The scorecard statement that resonated most:
"I often feel I'm behind."
The pattern costing him most was cold calling. He had been avoiding it for years, dressed up as logistics:
"I need to practise more. I need to perfect this more before I make the call. And I don't even do that."
Underneath the logistics sat something he hadn't said out loud before:
"I've realised that I'm actually, like, kind of scared of cold calling and prospecting."
A second child arriving. Sole income earner.
The Work
Structure came first. We walked through his actual calendar together, and "I don't have time", the belief he'd been operating from, collapsed on the spot:
"Dude, I'm looking at my calendar and like I got a bunch of white space today. This is like a fairy tale world where I'm like can't find time for demos."
Time blocking, task categorisation, a prospecting block first thing, before anything easier could eat the morning.
His verdict:
"I generally know what to do. That's a good feeling."
Then the fear itself. We challenged the catastrophising directly, testing it against the evidence, a move Jerome still runs on himself today.
His bias toward catastrophe was strong, so the first commitment was deliberately small: aim for one call.
Between two sessions, Jerome made 95 cold calls in 4 days.
One jerk. Two meetings booked.
His verdict, afterwards:
"All that fear for nothing."
The same challenge then ran on bigger fears.
Job security after company layoffs: he tested it himself and built a contingency plan.
Paternity leave: he'd been planning to take 1 month, afraid of stepping away. He took the full 4 months his company allowed.

The After
His first full quarter on the programme closed at 96% of target, one of the highest in the company.
The quarter after, in his own words from the testimonial:
"The following quarter, while working with him, I hit 100% of my target."
The anxiety stopped running the show:
"At work, I'm far less anxious, which naturally allows me to perform better. I make decisions faster. I don't spiral over temporary setbacks. I don't tie my identity to a single deal or month."
The change reached home too:
"When you're not mentally drained from internal pressure all day, you show up differently for your family. The ripple effect has been significant."
Then five months without a session, across his paternity leave. The tools were still running:
"I still have those learnings in my head."
His three words flipped from Stressed, Doubtful, Overwhelmed to:
Calm, Confident, Energised.
The statement he ticked went from "I often feel I'm behind" to:
"I often feel calm and in control."
Trusting himself to deliver consistently:
4/10 to 8/10.
Same role. Same quota. A different operating system making the calls.
"I stopped operating from fear and started operating from ownership."

From Jerome's Testimonial
"Before working with Ben, I was carrying a constant underlying sense of anxiety. On paper, I was performing well and had already experienced success in sales, but internally I felt stuck."
"I didn't change anything tactically on my sales calls. I didn't add more hours. I didn't suddenly find a secret script. The shift came from mindset, clarity, and structure."
"It's not about fixing what's broken. It's about unlocking what's already there."
